Here’s a list of the socks I’ve been using for ice climbing
Patagonia Heavyweight Merino Performance Knee-Length Socks - Great sock for the not so cold days, even though they are heavyweight there isn’t a lot of cushion in the sock compared to others with the heavyweight name.
Smartwool Mountaineer Classic Edition Maximum Cushion Socks - Great sock for filling up the boot and great overall warmth, only complaint is that it doesn’t stay in place.
Darn Tough Mountaineering Over-the-Calf Heavyweight Hiking Sock - These socks are almost a combination of the Smartwool socks and the Patagonia socks, they have a lot of cushion while having a lower profile thanks to a tighter weave. So far these socks have performed great, no complaints.
