Communication is key when climbing, whether you’re calling for slack or saying take the message needs to be clear. And that’s where Rocky Talkies comes in clutch. As a newcomer to the sport let me tell you that it was a relief to have a radio on me to talk things out. But the radio itself offers many benefits as having clear communication increases efficiency. There’s no more guesswork.
So that’s the benefit of using one, but let’s get into what makes the Rocky Talkie made for climbing. For starters it has a great range, 1 to 5 miles in the mountains. Also the amount of channels it has, 128 to be exact. That’s a great amount as it allows for you to be on an empty channel. Some other features include a long battery life, shatterproof screen, splash/snow proof, and a great operating temperature range (-20° to 120° fahrenheit).
There’s more features that I didn’t cover and they can be found here https://rockytalkie.com/products/rocky-talkie
If you have been on the fence on these, I definitely recommend you get them. You won’t be disappointed!
