The classic technical shirt. Now just like the Cap Merino shirts I’m gonna cover the Cap Cool Daily shirts as they relate to layering for ice climbing. Once it starts to warm up I’ll review them as a standalone piece.

But to jump right into it the Cap Cool Daily shirts work really well as a base layer, one of the reasons I do like them is because the fabric is slick it makes it so nothing gets bunched up. It’s the exact opposite of the Cap Cool Merino. So layering with fleece is a breeze.

Realistically the only downside I can really come up with is the fact that they can get perma-stink, but that’s just the nature of the fabric as it’s polyester. The best way to describe perma-stink is that even if you wash it never smells clean, but it also doesn’t smell dirty either. If you own any Capilene products you know exactly what I’m talking about.
