Okay so this is really a continuation of what's been going on in the comment section of my first look video of the G-Tech. So what I’ll say is I have been very impressed on how they’ve been climbing. I’ve logged three days of climbing in them and two days of hiking with tools and they seriously have been awesome!
But I kinda had an idea that would be the case as they are based off of the Aequilibrium, a boot that I have had a lot of time in. So knowing that I was pretty aware that these could be really good. What made them work really well for me was the fit, and the more I talk to people the more it seems like it's a pretty common consensus that the G5 EVO feels a little more bulky due to the Nepal last, whereas the G-Tech feels light, nimble, and precise. So much in fact that using these boots made me convert to monos, as I felt that having dual points was overkill.
Also I’ll mention that I’ve felt like the G-Tech is just as warm as the G5 EVO, but I will also completely admit that this could just be due to a better fit that I have with the G-Tech.
Super excited to have these for this season!

Alrighty, so here's a quick little update on the boots. Yesterday I went out to climb and the area we were in was very wet. So wet that even at the base of the climb you were dealing with water at ankle level. So needless to say that yesterday was a great day to test the water resistance of these boots.
To keep it simple the G-Tech performed great! My feet were dry the entire day and there was no sign on any water seeping into the boot.
Hopefully I won't be in that same situation again with all that water, but if I am I know that the G-Tech will be able to handle it.
